Autodidact: noun. Etymology: From the Greek autodidaktos meaning to self- teach.

Most people learn perfectly well in a structured setting (like a classroom), but some of us learn better on our own. We’re autodidacts-which I think sounds like a group of super-heroes-The Autodidacts, here to make your life better through books! This site is for us.

The chief purpose is to have a set goal each week of putting in writing what I’ve been learning, as well as links to the my favourite/most useful sites. If it also helps others then that’s great.

For the next few weeks (I update on Wednesdays at the least) the posts will be more focused on being an autodidact and tips and tools than what I’m reading. I’ve been working on a library database for the panoply of digital and physical books I own so I’ll know what I have on any given subject/by any given author. I hope to be done with that by June 9th and then I can turn my attention back to reading/writing/learning.

I have also enjoyed writing since I was quite small and this blog will be a way to keep myself motivated with that, as well as a documenting an attempt to become published.
