–Do you start making up fictional stories about everyone you see? (does not apply for writers)
–Do you feel cold or alone?
–Do you wonder what your friend Heathcliff (or other fictional character) is up to?
–Are you having questionable thoughts about the phone directory?
–Do you find yourself avidly reading the ingredients on cleaning products or cereal boxes?
–Do you gaze longingly at the books in other people’s homes–even books at which you’d usually scoff?
–Do you snap at people you know get to read more than you do?
–Are you irritable in general? (Does not apply to editors)
Then you may have Book Withdrawal! Do not panic! Simply get to the nearest book and don’t get up until you feel your symptoms subsiding. Call in sick to work if you must. Lives could be at stake.
