The Empire of Death

Twenty years ago, I visited the ossuary in Santa Maria della Concezione and became quite interested in the idea of human bones as decoration. Well, thanks to Upon a Midnight Dreary , I learned of The Empire of Death by Dr. Paul Koudounaris.

Recently, a friend sent a copy in exchange for computer work. And I simply must render IT services for books in future. This is the best payment Iā€™ve received yet.

Iā€™ve only just begun reading it, but the photographs are top-hole and itā€™s quite interesting. Iā€™ll be adding notes in the coming posts.
